Prof. Bindhy Wasini Pandey specialises in Mountain Ecology. He has 28 years of experience in Teaching and Research at the University of Delhi. He has taught the Himalaya's Geography and completed a Research Project on "Cryospheric Hazard Susceptibility and Vulnerability Assessment for Livelihood Security in the Mid Altitude Region of the Western Himalayas". He has received the "British Council International Collaboration" Project between the University of Delhi and the University of Bath Spa, UK. He is an Executive Member of the International Geo-Science Education Organisation. He is a member of the Executive Council of the Institute of Indian Geographers (IIG). Prof. Pandey is an Executive External (International) Member of the Advisory Board of the Afromontane Research Unit (ARU), Advisory Board, University of the Free State (UFS), Qwa Qwa Campus, South Africa.
The Centre for Himalayan Studies invites applications for the Himalayan Summer Research Program (HSRP)–2026, a field-oriented academic initiative designed to provide students with practical research exposure in the Himalayan region. The program focuses on mountain ecology, environmental sustainability, socio-cultural landscapes, and contemporary Himalayan issues through interdisciplinary learning and field engagement.
Participants will receive hands-on training in research methodology, spatial technologies, field survey techniques, data analysis, and academic writing under the guidance of experienced scholars and experts. The program aims to enhance research aptitude, analytical skills, and understanding of Himalayan environments and communities while encouraging innovative and sustainable perspectives on mountain studies.
